Okanagan Valley Cross Country Skiing (XC)
| The Okanagan Valley area of British Columbia is one of the key areas in BC for Cross Country Skiing because of the numerous snow mountains in the region so closely located to each other. The communities of Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton and Osoyoos are nearby communities to some of the more popular ski hills. Apex Ski Mountain is near Penticton. Big White and Crystal Mountain are located near Kelowna. Silver Star is kitty corner to Vernon. Mount Baldy downhill skiing is found outside the community of Osoyoos, BC, Canada. The Okanagan Valley British Columbia Ski Hills are mainly designed for all levels of cross country skiers. The trail systems on the snow mountains is well marked fdirecting beginners and experts to their destinations. All alpine cross country ski resorts offer rentals, instructions and lessons for the novice cross country skier when visiting the Okanagan Valley ski hills. Plan accordingly as ski hill accommodations on the mountains is limited. Down low in the neighbouring communities in the Okanagan Valley, at the foot of these ski hills, one can find plenty of different styles of accommodations to select from but will involve a commute to the cross country trails.
